About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker – Coasters to join our team. This role is vital in supporting consumers to live well, age well, and experience a respectful end of life within their own communities.
Working under the direction of a registered health professional, you will provide safe, high-quality, and culturally respectful support that enhances dignity and independence, while encouraging clients to remain active participants in their care.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Coordinator and Nurse, reporting any changes to a client’s wellbeing.
- Liaise with the Coordinator regarding rostering, sickness, training, and availability.
- Provide safe, high-quality services in line with individual care plans.
- Deliver support that is respectful, culturally safe, and mana-enhancing.
- Maximise client independence and functionality by encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Follow organisational policies, procedures, and care plans.
- Participate in ongoing training and skills development to work to the full extent of scope.
- Use technology effectively for communication and service administration.
- Perform other reasonable duties as agreed with your manager.
About You
You are empathetic, reliable, and passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives in their community. You will bring a person-centred approach and a commitment to cultural safety, dignity, and respect.
Essential Requirements
- NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) or willingness to undertake this qualification (with support to progress through Level 3 and potentially Level 4).
- Current full driver’s licence.
- Competency with Microsoft applications and similar software.
Desired
- Previous caregiving experience in the community, hospital, or aged care facility.
