About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Kahurangi and provide high-quality nursing care to our residents.
This position will include, supporting health consumers, while contributing to safe, effective, ethical, and culturally responsive care.
You will work collaboratively with residents, whānau, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure person centred care and optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person centred care for our residents through working alongside with their whanau.
- Meeting the needs of the resident through interai assessments and care planning
- Ensuring residents are the key focus and meeting resident needs; physical, emotional, and spiritual.
- Through planning and participation contributes and assists with individual resident care through the nursing roles of:
- Assessment
- Planning individualised care
- Working with families and significant others to provide the best possible care
- Ward duties as required
- Assist with ensuring quality care is provided
- Providing an environment that encourages the resident to consider the unit as home
- Ensures confidentiality, privacy, and dignity for all residents
- Delivers culturally sensitive care.
- Ensures the resident is supported during their stay within the Dementia unit
- Keeps appraised with all equipment and in date as per procedure and protocol
About You
Essential
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate (no conditions impacting role requirements)
- Demonstrated professional accountability within scope of practice
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite)
- Ability to work with children
- Strong communication, teamwork, and cultural competence skills
Desirable
- Current PDRP portfolio
- Experience with interRAI
