Medical Imaging Technologist
- Fixed term full time position available (35 hours per week), however we will also consider 2 part time applicants (please indicate your preferred hours in your cover letter)
- Role is based between Westport and Greymouth
- MRTB Registration with current APC essential

About the Role
Our service works Monday to Friday 8am -6pm with on call thereafter covering a 24/7 radiology service. Our team provides a diagnostic radiology service including: General Radiography and CT Scanning. Our team also travels to Westport 3 times a week to provide general x-ray and this will soon be in a new facility with a new machine.
On site weekly are sonographers from PRG and also Radiologists who supplement our service as contractors. The Greymouth team consists of 5 full time MITs and 1 fulltime Team leader plus 2 admin staff and an assistant.
MITs in this role will also help with admin and other tasks to help manage the services bookings and special procedures. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Perform imaging tasks (X-ray, CT, etc.)
- Prepare patients for X-ray exams
- Ensure accurate patient records
- Assist with clerical tasks.
- Follow radiation protection and patient care protocols.
- Participate in the on-call roster for 24/7 coverage.
- Engage in quality assurance activities
- Work independently and make protocol-based decisions
- Conduct CT scanning, including IV cannulation and contrast administration

About You
We are seeking an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join our team in this fixed term opportunity. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Excellent understanding of privacy and confidentiality

- Demonstrate a high level of initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Commitment to self development and growth
- Experience in CT scanning is desirable
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Registered with MRTB and current APC is essential
