About the RoleOur kitchen team are responsible for creating highest standard Food for our staff, patients and visitors. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidy working areas. 

A large part of this role is customer focused so you will need strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. Training will be provided.

Salary - Starting rate $28.63 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
Benefits - Time and a half on weekends! and double time on Public Holidays!

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting our cooks with preparing and presenting food
  • Delivering meals to our patients across the hospital
  • Ensure that your workspace is clean and tidy 

Shifts (please indicate on your cover letter which one you are interested in)

Shift 1

7am to 12pm working Monday through Friday – 25 hours per week

Shift 2

3.30pm to 7.30 pm Thursday though to Sunday – 16 hours per week

About you

Skills and Experience

  • Skilled kitchen assistant with experience within a similar environment would be ideal
  • Excellent customer service & food preparation skills
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work autonomously as well
  • Physically fit and reliable
  • Strong time management skills
