Director of Nursing - West Coast

About the Role
As Director of Nursing you will be providing operational and professional nursing leadership across the West Coast health system including rural, primary, community and secondary care. Your role will play a vital part in ensuring that the patient and their whānau is at the centre of our healthcare delivery. You will be dedicated to implementing sustainable clinical governance processes that reflects optimal service delivery and effective system change alongside our other leaders to ensure that Health New Zealand West Coast is excelling in providing care to our rural and remote communities.
About the Team/Service/ Location

About you
- Experience driving strategy and change within a broad, diverse and complex environment
- Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural safety competencies in the practice setting
- Extensive experience in professional nursing leadership with a focus on primary and community as well as operational management
- Commitment to work effectively and develop strong strategic relationships within the wider health system team
- Evidence of utilising nursing theory/research to nursing practice with demonstrated evidence of meeting advanced leadership competencies.
- Provide expert opinion and analysis to the Chief Executive and the General Manager on policy, strategic planning and workforce matters relevant to the West Coast context
- In partnership with the clinical executive team have a demonstrated commitment to work effectively within the wider health team
You will have a Nursing Council of New Zealand Registration
with a current Annual Practising Certificate as well as a postgraduate
qualification in nursing and/or health leadership and management.
