Clinical Nurse Specialist | Buller


  • Permanent, part time position Clinical Nurse specialist working 0.8FTE (32 hours per week) based with our team in Buller
  • 3-5 year’s experience in Cardiology field with clinical expertise is preferred
  • Have obtained or working towards a post graduate diploma in a relevant field.
  • Excellent case and time management skills are key to this role.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

  • Triage referrals for Cardiac patients
  • Assess, plan and monitor patients undergoing Cardiology interventions
  • Works closely with the Respiratory CNS to support the service and to co-ordinate health promotion programmes to the wider community
  • Work closely with the Cardiac specialists and other related specialities across the West Coast and Canterbury regions
  • Learn and share knowledge about symptom management
  • Facilitating telehealth sessions with patients and specialists.
  • Some community-based work for follow ups with patients
  • Provide education to colleague’s families and whānau
  • Provide support education and training to community facilities caring for this group of patients

This is an excellent role for a current RN wanting to step up into a CNS role or a CNS wanting to make a change into a different speciality. This role will be focused on providing excellent Cardiac care to our patients from across the West Coast. We are looking for a clinical role model who can educate peers, patients and their whānau.

  • Advanced nursing assessment skills in providing consultative specialist respiratory and cardiac advice
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Role models and promotes excellence in nursing practice and clinical leadership
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of care and improved patient outcomes.
