Are you a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in leadership? We are seeking an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) to join our Integrated Family Health Service (IFHS) team in the Northern Region (Westport & Reefton).

This role works in close partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to ensure the smooth coordination of services across primary care settings, supporting excellence in rural health outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in empowering staff, promoting high-quality care, and ensuring alignment with Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai o Poutini West Coast’s vision and values. 

About the role

As ACNM, you will:

  • Support the CNM in the day-to-day coordination and delivery of integrated health services.
  • Use critical thinking to lead by example, promoting safe, effective, patient-focused care.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, audits, and professional standards of care.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to nursing staff, ensuring professional development and performance standards are met.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, rostering, and budget management in collaboration with the CNM.
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and Te Whatu Ora requirements.

About you

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, holding a current practising certificate.
  • Minimum 3-5years post-registration nursing experience, with experience in the specialty area.
  • Currently holds or working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Sound understanding of the Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies and performance appraisal processes.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy and adaptability to new systems.
  • Commitment to Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai o Poutini West Coast’s vision and rural health outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Previous management or leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Postgraduate qualification in leadership and management (or working towards).
  • Designated Senior Nursing level on the Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP).
