The Pukenga Tiaki is a vital member of the multidisciplinary team at the adult community mental health service .
Working closely with your colleagues, you will ensure that culturally appropriate care is provided to tangata whaiora who access mental health and addiction services. You will walk alongside tangata whaiora and their whanau as they engage with our service, and will advocate for their needs. In turn you will guide your colleagues to develop the skills and knowledge to create an environment that is culturally safe and supports them from powhiri to poroporoake (through assessment and treatment to rehabilitation and discharge).
To deliver the best support to tangata whaiora you will bring knowledge of Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga Maori. You will bring excellent oral and written communication skills and be committed to team work and leading your colleagues to deliver culturally appropriate care.
This is .8 FTE role based in Westport on the South Island.
