What you'll do with your time
Are you a General Physician/Rural Generalist with Medical interest who is wanting to be part of a small team where you can truly practice general medicine and enjoy the challenges of general medicine in a rural community?
In this role, you are guaranteed to make a true difference in the community you are working with. You will participate in the delivery of general medical services for the West Coast community, based at Greymouth Hospital.
The base hospital for the West Coast District Health Board is a well appointed general hospital providing services to a catchment area of 33,000 people. You will also be working closely with Canterbury based physicians as part of the Transalpine Service agreement.
This role includes acute services, in-patient and out-patient responsibilities as well as the supervision and support of Rural Hospital Medicine Registrars, House Officers and Medical Students. You will have the ability to make this role your own and specialise in your areas of interest.
Our hospital environment is supportive and friendly and our staff work in dedicated teams. This role would see you working closely with other local physicians, Rural Hospital Medicine specialists, GP’s as well as local and transalpine based specialists.
