Small and proud of it!!
Some people feel you have to work in a big city to gain the career opportunities you desire, we think differently here on the West Coast.
You can be part of a small team where you can truly practice general medicine and enjoy the challenges of general medicine in a rural community. You are guaranteed to make a true difference in the community you are working with. We are seeking a General Medicine Physician who is looking to participate in the delivery of general medical services for the West Coast community, based at Greymouth Hospital.
The base hospital for the West Coast District Health Board is a well appointed general hospital providing services to a catchment area of 33,000 people. You will also be working closely with Canterbury based physicians as part of the Transalpine health services. The role includes acute services, in-patient and out-patient responsibilities as well as the supervision and training of Rural Hospital Medicine Registrars, House Officers and medical students.
The hospital environment is supportive and friendly and our staff work in dedicated teams with a lot of interdependence. This role would see you working closely with other physicians, both West Coast and Canterbury based, general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, rural hospital medicine generalists and obstetrics and gynaecologists, as well as local general practitioners.
If you are looking to experience the West Coast lifestyle then we want to make the move as easy as possible!! Our specialised settlement team are here to help you every step of the way!
